Really Happy Holidays!

Lucky for me and his family, Dan was given what is considered to be plenty of notice about going on tour. I am fortunate that we have the holiday season to spend together before he is deployed.

This is our first Christmas together, now more important than ever!  With 20 days to go before he leaves, you can be sure we'll make the best of it.

As anyone can probably attest to, the Holidays are not always "happy".  What with spending hundreds of dollars, packing on the pounds after eating all those delightful chocolates and cookies, and then all the additional family time (cause not everyone enjoys that), the holidays can often leave you feeling stressed, poor, and bloated!  Now, I've always been someone who has enjoyed Christmas. Never bothered by the crowds, the presents, the wrapping or the decorating (just a few days ago I was on the roof putting up our lights!), I am enjoying them even more this season.

Every snowflake, every cookie, every Christmas carol, every present, every light, every single thing about every single day I get to share with Dan.  A privilege I won't have after January 8th - so this truly is a Happy Holiday for me!

  1. Stay positive Kera! As a fellow blogger, I would suggest you start a Twitter account if you have not already done so, and add people who are connected to military life. That would be your target audience. Good Luck!

  2. Hi Kera

Welcome to "the life", ~ there really is no other life like it. While it has its challenges, it certainly has its rewards as well. You will find an extended family that loves deeply and is fiercely loyal, friends who will drop what they are doing to be there for you if you need them, bonded by shared experiences. Welcome to the family.

Just one small point - publishing actual dates, or countdowns (10 days until he leaves, for example) is a big no-no for security reasons, and since you are using your real names (I assume) it can get both you and him in trouble if the wrong person sees it.

Don't worry, we all learn many things along the way; we've all been there. We don't judge, we share, and help.

    Blessings.
